The UNLV volleyball program is led by Cindy Fredrick, who is entering her second season as head coach of the Rebels in 2012. The Rebels will return eight letterwinners from last year’s team, including six starters for the 2012 season. Madeline Westman, an all-conference selection in 2011, returns this season for her junior year. The team also returns Candice Thomas and Stephanie Thelen, who were both named to the 2011 Mountain West All-Tournament Team. UNLV advanced to the championship game of the 2011 MW Tournament and are looking to build on that success. The team welcomes seven newcomers, which includes two from Las Vegas: Siga Appelgate (a sophomore transfer from Pacific who attended Green Valley High School) and Bree Hammel (a freshman from Bonanza High School). This year's home schedule begins on Friday, August 24th when the Rebels take on the Cal State Bakersfield Road Runners. All matches are played in the Cox Pavilion on the campus of UNLV.
