The UNLV women's soccer program is led by new head coach Michael Coll. He joined the Rebels after eight years as an assistant at Penn State. During Coll’s eight years on the Penn State staff, the Nittany Lions advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 five times and reached the NCAA semifinals in 2005. UNLV returns two all-conference performers from a year ago, senior midfielder Macy Jo Harrison and senior defender Caitlin Allen, both second team All-Mountain West in 2011. They are two of the five seniors on this year’s team, which also includes Justine Sauder, who started 19 games as a defender in 2010 before missing last season with a leg injury. Eight Las Vegas/Henderson natives are on the Rebels’ roster this season. The Rebels kick off their 2012 home schedule on Friday, August 17 when they take on Northern Arizona at Peter Johann Memorial Field.
